The majority of U.S. pilots of World War 2 received their primary flight training in the famous Stearman Trainer. This excellent 2-place biplane was known as the PT-17 when delivered to Army flight training centers. The Navy designations were N2S-1 and N2S-4. Nearly 3,000 were built in the 1940-43 period and, in the post war era and up to modern times, the Stearman Trainer has been successfully used as a stunt plane and crop duster.

Beautiful large balsa wood airplane models-from the famous Stearman PT-17 trainer to the history making Spirit of St. Louis. Our latest release the Douglas DC-3. This model can also be built as a C-47; decals and instructions to build either model are included. Each model is a small but faithful replica of an airplane widely known for deeds in wartime or, like the Cessna Skyhawk, for its present day popularity. Here is toy airplane model building worthy of the time and effort-you would be hard pressed to find a finer kit available. The Camel, Skyhawk, PT-17 and Spirit of St. Louis are designed for .049 to .15 U-Control, .049 gas and rubber powered free flight. The B-25 is for .020 to .049 U-Control or display. The historic DC-3 is designed to be built as a Build 'n Show display model. Kits contain best quality materials and instructions that have made Guillow balsa airplane kits the "Best in Balsa". Note: The fuselages of the Camel, PT-17, Spirit of St. Louis and Skyhawk are large enough to take simple R/C equipment - NO diagrams or instructions included or available. For ages 14 and up.
