On December 17,1903 Orville and Wilbur Wright flew into history. Orville Wright made the first sustained, controlled powered flight of a heavier than air aircraft. The 1903 Wright Flyer was flown 120 feet in 12 seconds by Orville Wright that same day Wilbur Wright flew the same plane 852 feet. This 1:20 scale balsa airplane model of the 1903 Wright Flyer has been designed for easy assembly using Guillow's famous step by step building methods. Kit includes grade A precision laser cut balsa parts, high quality tissue covering, laser cut profile of pilot, simulated engine, moveable propellers and a display stand with plaque. For ages 12 and up.
This museum quality scale model kit has a 24" wingspan and over 150 laser cut parts. It includes all the balsa wood, tissue, thread, etc to construct the replica of the FIRST powered, heavier than air machine to achieve pilot controlled sustained flight.
